Situated close to some of Toronto’s finest green spaces and natural bodies of water, Swansea is one of the city’s most unique residential neighbourhoods. It is the only Toronto neighbourhood to have its own community run Town Hall, and also the only one to have a lake, river and pond as its natural boundaries. With all the charm of a small town and close to some of the city’s best schools, this family-oriented community is an excellent place to raise a family.
Homes in Swansea
Swansea features a fantastic mix of semi-detached and single family homes. Most homes were built between 1905 and 1935 and have undergone remodelling, giving them a contemporary feel while still retaining many of the heritage details that make them unique.
High-end homes are located at the edge of High Park overlooking Grenadier Pond, and at Riverside Drive and Brule Gardens in the west side. There are also a variety of condominium and townhouse options as well.
You will find many tree-lined streets and relatively large lots in Swansea. The hilly terrain and winding roads create a gorgeous, picturesque surrounding that is unique to the neighbourhood.
Living in Swansea
Wonderfully situated close to some of the city’s finest green spaces and natural bodies of water, Swansea is an excellent place for outdoor activity and exploration. Shopping is also steps away at Bloor West Village, with an incredible variety of shopping, dining, and much more.
Rennie Park, in the heart of Swansea, has outdoor rinks, baseball and soccer fields, tennis courts and a wading pool and playground. Swansea Recreation Centre has an indoor pool and gym. The Swansea Town Hall and Community Centre includes a small gymnasium, and a selection of meeting rooms available for a variety of functions.
Great education is not far from Swansea either, with an abundance of schools that boast impressive academic records, diversity, and a wide range of extracurricular activities. Some of these schools include Swansea Public School, Keele Street Public School, Humberside Montessori School, St Pius X Catholic School, and the prestigious Blyth Academy.
With gorgeous houses, picturesque surroundings, and some of the best green spaces Toronto has to offer, Swansea is an excellent location for families looking to settle down close to the city without being in the city.
